Festival DME and Electroacoustic Performance
My involvement with Festival DME, Dias de Música Electroacústica, began in 2013 through the Nano Músicos Electroacústicos competition.
I was awarded 1st Prize for my performance of The Fifth String by João Pedro Oliveira, a work that introduced me more deeply to the relationship between acoustic performance and electroacoustic sound.
The experience became an important stage in my development as a young violinist, requiring a different kind of listening, timing and interaction from conventional chamber or solo repertoire.
Following the competition, I took part in a series of performances connected to Festival DME, presenting electroacoustic repertoire to audiences across Portugal.
These concerts strengthened my interest in contemporary music and in the possibilities that emerge when live instruments interact with electronic sound, recorded material and new performance technologies.
This early experience with electroacoustic music continues to inform my wider artistic practice, particularly my interest in collaborative and interdisciplinary performance.
