Chamber Music After Dark
Chamber music after dark
A piano quartet bringing together violin, viola, cello and piano through programmes shaped by rhythm, atmosphere and storytelling.
Based in Germany, the ensemble combines the depth and intimacy of classical chamber music with the intensity of tango, cinematic sound worlds and contemporary arrangements. Rather than presenting a collection of unrelated pieces, each programme is designed as a complete musical journey, with its own identity, emotional arc and visual atmosphere.
Our Artistic Identity
The quartet was created with the aim of developing distinctive concert experiences for theatres, cultural venues, festivals and curated event series.
Our current artistic direction explores music that feels dramatic, intimate and immediate. Tango nuevo, film music and contemporary classical influences sit at the centre of this identity, performed through specially adapted arrangements for violin, viola, cello and piano.
The ensemble may also perform traditional classical repertoire, but its main focus is currently on developing themed programmes that connect with audiences through recognisable melodies, strong emotions and a clear sense of narrative.
The Ensemble
Featured Programme
-
A programme exploring tango in its most atmospheric and theatrical form.
From restrained intimacy to rhythmic urgency, Tango After Dark moves through music shaped by longing, tension, nostalgia and desire. The warmth of the strings is combined with the rhythmic and harmonic energy of the piano, creating a chamber sound that is both elegant and visceral.
The programme includes music associated with Astor Piazzolla and other tango-inspired works.
The final repertoire and running order can be adapted according to the venue, concert duration and performance context.
